This large English slant-front desk offers a handsome interior with eight small drawers, eight cubbies, and a center cabinet with two flanking secret drawers in a "book-face" motif. The base contains three large drawers and three smaller ones with oak interiors. The piece dates to a period between 1760 and 1775 and demonstrates all of the style and refinement of Chippendale furniture from that time. It is in excellent condition and retains its original drawer pulls. The escutcheons are replacement hardware, but perfectly consistent with the style of the piece. It measures 46 inches wide by 21 inches deep by 43 1/2 inches high.
